Random Sampling Accepted for Travelling

Updated: Feb 23, 2021

Ministry of Tourism has announced that effective from today, the 9th of February 2021, local artists travelling to tourist establishments that require a negative PCR Test result prior to travelling can now submit a PCR result with a validity of 72 hours obtained through random sampling.

Under the new changes:

  • Individuals will now be able to obtain a free PCR result from roadside random sampling for travelling to resort establishments for work.

  • Document or Text message from Health Protection Agency (HPA) will now be accepted for travelling.

However, this does not apply to individuals travelling from aboard or individuals who are required to complete the mandatory quarantine:

  • Individuals travelling for long term work will still need to complete the mandatory quarantine period of 10 days and obtain a PCR negative result before reporting to work.

The Ministry added that it is the responsibility of the management of these tourist establishments to ensure that the document and text message submitted by the individual for the PCR negative result is valid and adhere to all regulations published by HPA and the Ministry.

We hope that the change in this regulation allows more movement for Musicians to pursue work.
