Please follow the new travel regulations here
There have been changes made to the traveling guidelines every month since the beginning of this pandemic. Musicians that have performed weekly at multiple resorts have been unable to do so since March 2020.
However, we are happy to share with you that the wait is now over!
The Tourism Ministry and HPA worked to make sure we all can get back to work safely by following the new travel guidelines. The new guidelines came into effect on the 19th of October 2020.
The procedures currently adhered to travel movements in addition to the HPA regulations for the tourism sector are as follows.
Third-Party workers (Musicians, DJs, etc...) are allowed to travel under:
3A - 3 days (with a single extension of 3 more days) exempted quarantine and testing.
These workers can be exempted from quarantine provided that the resort/tourist facility can ensure that adequate measures are taken to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
3B - for a maximum of 3 months with mandatory quarantine and testing
Please be informed that the Ministry of Tourism is in discussion with HPA on finalizing new procedures as per the recently launched FAAS Portal (faas.hpa.gov.mv), which is used by resort management to submit travel requests for approval prior to the individual traveling.
All resorts are now online on the portal and can process requests under the same procedures until the ministry informs otherwise.
I'm sure we all are very eager to get back to work and start earning. Therefore, we urge you all to strictly follow the HPA & Resort guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus.
If any members of the union face any issues getting approval for travel, please don't hesitate to contact us.
